FCCLA - History & Organization

1990-1991 was the first year that Bronaugh reorganized a local FHA Chapter (grades 7-12) after an uncertain number of years without one. Twenty-one members received pins that year and we eagerly elected officers for the 1991-92 school year ahead. The organization was still called Future Homemakers of America. That year we had 29 members, presented a ghost-out about drug & alcohol abuse, went caroling at a local nursing home, and four members attended state convention in Columbia. Over the years since then our organization has continued to grow and be active. In 1999, the name was changed nationwide to Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. This is the only organization that has the family as its central focus. This past year, the Bronaugh FCCLA had sixty-seven members, which again was an record high. Seven members went to State Conference at Columbia and four members attended Access Conference. We are looking forward to a great future in leadership and many other opportunities through FCCLA. We hope that you will come and join us!
