Students from Bronaugh R-7 attended the 2007 Missouri Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Access FCCLA Conference, October 21-22, at the Tan-Tar-A Resort, Osage Beach. Over 1,450 FCCLA members, advisors, and chaperones attended the conference.
Members attending from the Bronaugh FCCLA chapter include Katherine Kerbs, Danielle Russell, Jessica Robb, Vickie Robb, Stephanie Stone, Alexis Brown, and Steffani Markus . Local chapter advisor , Jackie Linn also attended, as well as Sherry Brown
FCCLA members chose one of three conference tracks at Access FCCLA. Take AIM (Active & Involved Members) training helped new members learn about the FCCLA organization and the available leadership development opportunities and programs. Leadership Unlimited training allowed FCCLA officers to develop skills for more effective chapter management, public speaking, and conflict resolution. Chapters in Action training allowed students to plan chapter projects in the areas of impaired driving, youth suicide prevention, and other teen issues. Speakers focused on peer education efforts and resources available to chapters for local projects.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only career and technical student organization with the family as its central focus. Participation in FCCLA programs and activities help members become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities.
