Job Shadowing a Success

Four high school students were able to job shadow on Friday, February 8, 2008. Excitement ran high as they described their experiences at the various job locations. All had a very informative day and learned many new things. One of the students said, "This experience helped confirm my desire to go to law school and use my skills as an attorney to help children in the criminal justice system." Another commented, "I am really excited!"
Job shadowing will benefit students by helping them make contact with the business community, helping them make career choices, and giving them new experiences. Sometimes students find out that they don't want to pursue a career in which they were interested. This is just as valuable as finding out that they're even more interested and want to continue in the direction they had planned.
Everyone participating in job shadowing benefits. The employers who gave of their time and expertise are greatly appreciated!
