Character Plus Program-Character Education was a large part of the 2007/08 year. Bronaugh R-7 school uses the following six character traits: respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
We are responsible for the Monday morning assemblies.
We had a tee-shirt logo contest to design a tee-shirt for students and faculty to purchase.
Winner: Izac Davis-4th grade
School year included the following assemblies:
1 st Quarter- Brent Daniels Technological Music Production-He was a composer, sound designer, and recording artist who amazed the students by showing them the relationship between computers and the music industry. He had the students create our own school song and spoke about the importance of education, choosing a drug/alcohol-free life, and pursuing dreams.
2nd Quarter- Buffy Coleman Basketball show-He played for the Harlem Wizards and entertained the students with a solo performance of his amazing basketball skills, audience participation on the court, and an inspiring message about his own life and how he followed his dream of becoming a pro basketball player. He also stayed and conducted an evening session for parents. He spoke about positive parenting skills, encouraging children to get a good education, and ways to help them achieve the greatest potential.
3rd Quarter-Hip-Hop Handbook-Academic Entertainment provided this group who entertained the students with various forms of urban music and dance. They promoted literacy and creative expression through music, dance, and visual art. They also spoke about the importance of character no matter what occupation you chose in life.
4th Quarter-Chris Egelston Reach for Success-He will speak about respect for yourself and others, being responsible for your own words and actions, and making the right choices. He will use magic, comedy, and audience participation.
