Title I Reading Teacher
by Monica Stratford
August 14, 2007
Hi, my name is Monica Stratford and I am the new Title I reading
teacher. I have taught different grades in the elementary school
for 9 years in western Kansas. I received my BS in elementary
education from Newman University in Wichita, KS and am currently
working on my Master’s degree from Emporia State University.
I have now returned to my home state of Missouri with my two
children JR, age 5, and Taylor, age 8. I’m very happy to be in
Bronaugh and to be able to bring my children to such a nice
school.
As Title I reading teacher, I will be assisting the elementary
teachers with their reading programs grades Kindergarten through
6th. I look forward to being in the classrooms and working with the
teachers and students.
Your child’s success in reading depends on you. First and
foremost, they need your support. Daily practice of reading skills
is essential. Practice, practice, practice! Continue to read to
your child. Listening to you helps the child to develop good
fluency and excellent reading habits. Ask your child questions as
they read to you and as you read to them. Developing comprehension
is key to proficient reading. With your support, this can be a very
successful school year for all of us!
If you have any questions or concerns for me, feel free to contact me at the school or through email: mstratford@bronaugh.k12.mo.us I look forward to working with you!
Ms. Monica Stratford
